Animals (Al-An 'aam)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
Only God Who has created the heavens, the earth, darkness, and light deserves all praise. The disbelievers consider other things equal to Him. 1 He it is who created you of clay and then decreed a term - and a term determined is with Him - yet ye waver. 2 And He is Allah (the God) of the heavens and in the earth; He knows all, your secrets and your disclosures, and He knows your deeds. 3 yet every time a sign comes to them from their Lord, they turn away from it. 4 They have rejected truth whenever it came to them, yet [more] news will reach them concerning what they have been making a mockery of. 5 Why do they not consider how many generations living before them We have destroyed. We established those nations in the land with abilities far beyond those given to you. We sent down plenty of rain from the sky for them and made streams flow therein, but, then, We destroyed them for their sins and established other nations after them. 6 And had We sent down to you (O dear Prophet Mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him) something written on paper so that they could feel it with their hands, even then the disbelievers would have said, “This is nothing but clear magic.” 7 They say: Why hath not an angel been sent down unto him? If We sent down an angel, then the matter would be judged; no further time would be allowed them (for reflection). 8 Had We appointed an angel, We would have sent him down in the form of a man - and thus We would have caused them the same doubt which they now entertain. 9 Messengers have been mocked before you, but those who scoffed were overtaken by the very thing they scoffed at. 10
