Say: 'Should we call in place of God one who can neither help nor do us harm, and turn back after having been guided by God, like a man beguiled by the devils who wanders perplexed in the wilderness while his friends call him back to the right path, saying: 'Come to us, this way?' Say: "God's guidance is (true) guidance, and we have been commanded to submit to the Lord of all the worlds. 71 and to be constant in prayer and conscious of Him: for it is He unto whom you all shall be gathered." 72 And it is He who created the heavens and earth in truth. And the day He says, "Be," and it is, His word is the truth. And His is the dominion [on] the Day the Horn is blown. [He is] Knower of the unseen and the witnessed; and He is the Wise, the Acquainted. 73 ۞ And when Ibrahim said to his sire, Azar: Do you take idols for gods? Surely I see you and your people in manifest error. 74 In this way We showed Abraham Our kingdom of the heavens and the earth, so that he might have certainty of faith. 75 Then, when the night overshadowed him with its darkness, he beheld a star; [and] he exclaimed, "This is my Sustainer!" - but when it went down, he said, "I love not the things that go down." 76 Then when he saw the moon rising, he said: Is this my Lord? So when it set, he said: If my Lord had not guided me I should certainly be of the erring people. 77 When he saw the sun rising, he said, 'This is my Lord; this is greater!' But when it set he said, 'O my people, surely I am quit of that you associate. 78 Verily I have set my countenance towards Him who hath created the heavens and the earth, upright, and am not of the associaters. 79 His nation argued with him. He said: 'Will you argue with me about Allah, indeed He guided me! Except by His will, I do not fear those you associate with Him. My Lord embraces all things in knowledge, will you not remember? 80 And how should I fear what you associate while you do not fear that you have associated with Allah that for which He has not sent down to you any authority? So which of the two parties has more right to security, if you should know? 81 Those who believe and obscure not their belief by wrongdoing, theirs is safety; and they are rightly guided. 82
