A 'araaf (Al-A 'araaf)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
۞ Alif-Laam-Meem-Saad. (Alphabets of the Arabic language; Allah and to whomever He reveals, know their precise meanings.) 1 (This is the) Book (the Quran) sent down unto you (O Muhammad SAW), so let not your breast be narrow therefrom, that you warn thereby, and a reminder unto the believers. 2 O mankind, follow what has been sent down to you from your Lord, and do not follow other administrators, abandoning this (the Holy Qur’an); very little do you understand. 3 And how many cities have We destroyed, and Our punishment came to them at night or while they were sleeping at noon. 4 and they but cried, when Our might came upon there, 'We were evildoers.'; 5 Then shall We question those to whom Our message was sent and those through whom We sent it 6 With knowledge We will narrate to them, for We are never absent. 7 And the weighing will be just on that Day. Then those whose (deeds) are heavier in the balance will find fulfilment, 8 And as for those whose scale is light: those are they who lose their souls because they used to wrong Our revelations. 9 It is We Who have placed you with authority on earth, and provided you therein with means for the fulfilment of your life: small are the thanks that ye give! 10
