A 'araaf (Al-A 'araaf)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
۞ Alif-Lam-Mim-Sad. 1 This is a Book sent down toward thee, so let there be no straitness in thy breast therefor, that thou mayest warn thereby! and this is an admonition unto the believers. 2 [Say (O Muhammad SAW) to these idolaters (pagan Arabs) of your folk:] Follow what has been sent down unto you from your Lord (the Quran and Prophet Muhammad's Sunnah), and follow not any Auliya' (protectors and helpers, etc. who order you to associate partners in worship with Allah), besides Him (Allah). Little do you remember! 3 And how many a [rebellious] community have We destroyed, with Our punishment coming upon it by night, or while they were resting at noontide! 4 No plea had they, when Our terror came unto them, save that they said: Lo! We were wrong-doers. 5 Then We will surely question those to whom [a message] was sent, and We will surely question the messengers. 6 With knowledge We will narrate to them, for We are never absent. 7 And the weighing [of deeds] that Day will be the truth. So those whose scales are heavy - it is they who will be the successful. 8 As for those whose bad deeds weigh heavier, they will lose their souls for their injustice to Our revelations. 9 It is We Who have placed you with authority on earth, and provided you therein with means for the fulfilment of your life: small are the thanks that ye give! 10
