A 'araaf (Al-A 'araaf)
206 verses, revealed in Mecca after S (Saad) before Jinns (Al-Jinn)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ Alif-Lam-Mim-Sad. 1 This is a Book sent down toward thee, so let there be no straitness in thy breast therefor, that thou mayest warn thereby! and this is an admonition unto the believers. 2 Follow (O men!) the revelation given unto you from your Lord, and follow not, as friends or protectors, other than Him. Little it is ye remember of admonition. 3 How many a township have We destroyed! As a raid by night, or while they slept at noon, Our terror came unto them. 4 and when Our scourge fell upon them, their only cry was, "We were indeed wrongdoers!" 5 Then shall we question those to whom Our message was sent and those by whom We sent it. 6 Then We will surely relate [their deeds] to them with knowledge, and We were not [at all] absent. 7 The weighing on that day is the true (weighing). As for those whose scale is heavy, they are the successful. 8 And those whose scales are light are the people who put themselves to ruin the recompense of the injustice they used to do to Our signs. 9 We have established you in the earth and there appointed for you livelihood; little thanks you show. 10

قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
