A 'araaf (Al-A 'araaf)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
۞ Alif-Laam-Meem-Saad. (Alphabets of the Arabic language; Allah and to whomever He reveals, know their precise meanings.) 1 A book has been revealed to you, (Muhammad). You should not hesitate to convey its warning and its good advice to the believers. 2 [Say (O Muhammad SAW) to these idolaters (pagan Arabs) of your folk:] Follow what has been sent down unto you from your Lord (the Quran and Prophet Muhammad's Sunnah), and follow not any Auliya' (protectors and helpers, etc. who order you to associate partners in worship with Allah), besides Him (Allah). Little do you remember! 3 Many a habitation have We laid low before: Our retribution came upon them in the night or in the midst of siesta at noon. 4 and they but cried, when Our might came upon there, 'We were evildoers.'; 5 Then shall We question those to whom Our message was sent and those through whom We sent it 6 With knowledge We will narrate to them, for We are never absent. 7 On that Day, the weighing is true. He whose scales are heavy those are the prosperers, 8 And as for those whose scale is light: those are they who lose their souls because they used to wrong Our revelations. 9 And surely, We gave you authority on the earth and appointed for you therein provisions (for your life). Little thanks do you give. 10
