A 'araaf (Al-A 'araaf)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ Alif. Lam. Mim. 1 (This is the) Book (the Quran) sent down unto you (O Muhammad SAW), so let not your breast be narrow therefrom, that you warn thereby, and a reminder unto the believers. 2 "Follow what has been sent down unto you by your Sustainer, and follow no masters other than Him. How seldom do you keep this in mind! 3 And how many cities have We destroyed, and Our punishment came to them at night or while they were sleeping at noon. 4 And when Our Might fell upon them they only said: 'We have indeed been harmdoers' 5 Then surely, We shall question those (people) to whom it (the Book) was sent and verily, We shall question the Messengers. 6 Then verily We shall narrate unto them (the event) with knowledge, for We were not absent (when it came to pass). 7 Truth alone will be of weight that Day. Those whose scales are heavy shall be successful, 8 And as for those whose scale is light: those are they who lose their souls because they used to wrong Our revelations. 9 We established you in the land and provided you with a means of livelihood there: yet you are seldom thankful. 10
