A 'araaf (Al-A 'araaf)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
۞ Lam. Mim. Sad. 1 (It is) a Scripture that is revealed unto thee (Muhammad) - so let there be no heaviness in thy heart therefrom - that thou mayst warn thereby, and (it is) a Reminder unto believers. 2 [Say (O Muhammad SAW) to these idolaters (pagan Arabs) of your folk:] Follow what has been sent down unto you from your Lord (the Quran and Prophet Muhammad's Sunnah), and follow not any Auliya' (protectors and helpers, etc. who order you to associate partners in worship with Allah), besides Him (Allah). Little do you remember! 3 How many towns have We destroyed (for their sins)? Our punishment took them on a sudden by night or while they slept for their afternoon rest. 4 And when Our punishment came upon them, they had nothing to say for themselves, and could only cry, "Verily, we were wrongdoers!" 5 We will certainly question the people and the Messengers sent to them. 6 So indeed We shall inform them with Our knowledge and We were not absent. 7 And the weighing will be just on that Day. Then those whose (deeds) are heavier in the balance will find fulfilment, 8 And as for those whose scale is light: those are they who lose their souls because they used to wrong Our revelations. 9 And We have certainly established you upon the earth and made for you therein ways of livelihood. Little are you grateful. 10
