A 'araaf (Al-A 'araaf)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ Alif, Lam, Mim, Sad. 1 This Book has been sent down to you; so do not hesitate to warn (the unbelievers) through it, and remind the faithful. 2 [O men!] Follow what has been revealed to you from your Lord and follow no masters other than Him. Little are you admonished. 3 And how many cities have We destroyed, and Our punishment came to them at night or while they were sleeping at noon. 4 Then naught was their cry when Our violence came upon them save that they said: verily we have been the wrong-doers. 5 Then We will surely question those to whom [a message] was sent, and We will surely question the messengers. 6 Then surely We will recount unto them with knowledge, and We have not been absent. 7 Truth alone will be of weight that Day. Those whose scales are heavy shall be successful, 8 And whosesoever balances will be light - those are they who have lost themselves in respect of Our signs. 9 We have established you in the earth and there appointed for you livelihood; little thanks you show. 10
