A 'araaf (Al-A 'araaf)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ Alif, Lam, Meem, Sad. 1 This Book has been sent down to you; so do not hesitate to warn (the unbelievers) through it, and remind the faithful. 2 Follow, [O mankind], what has been revealed to you from your Lord and do not follow other than Him any allies. Little do you remember. 3 How many towns We have destroyed. Our scourge fell upon them by night or at midday when they were resting: 4 No cry did they utter when Our Torment came upon them but this: "Verily, we were Zalimun (polytheists and wrong-doers, etc.)". 5 We will certainly question the people and the Messengers sent to them. 6 with full knowledge, We shall tell them what they did, for We have never been away from them. 7 The weighing on that day is the true (weighing). As for those whose scale is heavy, they are the successful. 8 And those whose scales are light - they are the ones who will lose themselves for what injustice they were doing toward Our verses. 9 And We have given you (mankind) power in the earth, and appointed for you therein livelihoods. Little give ye thanks! 10
