A 'araaf (Al-A 'araaf)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
۞ Alif-Lam-Mim-Sad. 1 A book has been revealed to you, (Muhammad). You should not hesitate to convey its warning and its good advice to the believers. 2 Follow (O men!) the revelation given unto you from your Lord, and follow not, as friends or protectors, other than Him. Little it is ye remember of admonition. 3 And how many cities have We destroyed, and Our punishment came to them at night or while they were sleeping at noon. 4 and when Our scourge fell upon them, their only cry was, "We were indeed wrongdoers!" 5 Thus, [on Judgment Day] We shall most certainly call to account all those unto whom a [divine] message was sent, and We shall most certainly call to account the message-bearers [themselves]; 6 We will tell them with absolute certainty (what they had done) for We had never been absent from them (during their lifetime). 7 And the weighing on that Day is certain, then whosesoever balances will be heavy, those! they shall fare well. 8 And those whose (deeds) are lighter in the scale shall perish for violating Our signs. 9 And assuredly We established you in the earth and appointed for you livelihoods therein; yet little thanks ye return. 10
