A 'araaf (Al-A 'araaf)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ Alif-Lam-Mim-Sad. [These letters are one of the miracles of the Quran and none but Allah (Alone) knows their meanings]. 1 A Book revealed to you-- so let there be no straitness in your breast on account of it-- that you may warn thereby, and a reminder close to the believers. 2 [Say (O Muhammad SAW) to these idolaters (pagan Arabs) of your folk:] Follow what has been sent down unto you from your Lord (the Quran and Prophet Muhammad's Sunnah), and follow not any Auliya' (protectors and helpers, etc. who order you to associate partners in worship with Allah), besides Him (Allah). Little do you remember! 3 And how many cities have We destroyed, and Our punishment came to them at night or while they were sleeping at noon. 4 When Our wrath struck them, they could do nothing but confess to their sins. 5 We will certainly question the people and the Messengers sent to them. 6 Then most certainly We will relate to them with knowledge, and We were not absent. 7 The weighing on that Day will be the true weighing: those whose scales are heavy will prosper. 8 Those whose scale will be light, will be their souls in perdition, for that they wrongfully treated Our signs. 9 We assuredly established you in the earth and arranged for your livelihood in it. Little do you give thanks. 10
