۞ To the 'Ad people, (We sent) Hud, one of their (own) brethren: He said: O my people! worship Allah! ye have no other god but Him will ye not fear (Allah)?" 65 The leading men of his people who refused to acknowledge the truth, said, "We can see you are a foolish man, and we think you are lying." 66 He said: 'O my people! There is no folly in me; rather I am a Messenger from the Lord of the universe. 67 “I convey to you the messages of my Lord and am your trustworthy well-wisher.” 68 Marvel ye that there should come unto you a Reminder from your Lord by means of a man among you, that he may warn you? Remember how He made you viceroys after Noah's folk, and gave you growth of stature. Remember (all) the bounties of your Lord, that haply ye may be successful. 69 They said, "Have you come to tell us to serve God alone and to forsake the gods our forefathers served? Bring us then what you threaten us with, if you are truthful." 70 He said: "Punishment and wrath have already come upon you from your Lord: dispute ye with me over names which ye have devised - ye and your fathers,- without authority from Allah? then wait: I am amongst you, also waiting." 71 Then We saved him and those who were with him, by Our mercy; We annihilated those who denied Our signs and would not believe. 72
