Al-A 'araaf 10 of 24
And to Thamood We sent their brother Salih. He said: 'Worship Allah, my nation, for you have no god except He. A clear proof has come to you from your Lord. Here is the shecamel of Allah, a sign for you. Leave her to graze in the earth of Allah and do not touch her with evil, lest a painful punishment seizes you. 73 "And remember when He made you successors after 'Ad (people) and gave you habitations in the land, you build for yourselves palaces in plains, and carve out homes in the mountains. So remember the graces (bestowed upon you) from Allah, and do not go about making mischief on the earth." 74 The chiefs of those who were stiff-necked amongst His people said unto those who were counted weak - unto such of them as believed: know ye that Salih is a sent one of his Lord? They said: verily we are believers in that wherewith he hath been sent. 75 [But] the arrogant ones said: "Behold, what you have come to believe in we refuse to regard as true!" 76 So they hamstrung the she-camel and rebelled against the command of their Lord and said, “O Saleh! Bring upon us what you promise us, if you are a Noble Messenger.” 77 So the earthquake took them unawares, and they lay prostrate in their homes in the morning! 78 He turned from them, saying: 'I conveyed to you, my nation the Message of my Lord and gave you counsel; but you had no love for sincere advisers' 79 And We sent Lot, who said to his people: "Why do you commit this lecherous act which none in the world has committed before? 80 You approach men lustfully instead of women. Truly, you are a nation who exceed (in sin)' 81 And his people had no answer except to say, “Turn them out of your dwellings; these are people who wish purity!” 82 So We saved him and his family, except for his wife; she was of those who remained [with the evildoers]. 83 And We rained a rain upon them. See now the nature of the consequence of evil-doers! 84

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
