Al-A 'araaf 12 of 24
Whenever We sent a prophet to a town, We took up its people in suffering and adversity, in order that they might learn humility. 94 Then We changed the evil for the good, until they increased in number and in wealth, and said: "Our fathers were touched with evil (loss of health and calamities) and with good (prosperity, etc.)." So We seized them of a sudden while they were unaware. 95 If the people of the towns had but believed and feared Allah, We should indeed have opened out to them (All kinds of) blessings from heaven and earth; but they rejected (the truth), and We brought them to book for their misdeeds. 96 Do the people of the cities feel secure Our might shall not come upon them at night while they are sleeping? 97 or that which could seize them during their busy hours of the day? 98 What! do they then feel secure from Allah's plan? But none feels secure from Allah's plan except the people who shall perish. 99
