Al-A 'araaf 12 of 24

There is not a region to which We sent a prophet and did not inflict upon its people adversity and hardship so that they may submit. 94 Then We changed the misfortune into prosperity to the extent that they became numerous and said, “Indeed grief and comfort did reach our ancestors” – so We seized them suddenly in their neglect. 95 And if only the people of the cities had believed and feared Allah, We would have opened upon them blessings from the heaven and the earth; but they denied [the messengers], so We seized them for what they were earning." 96 Do the people of the dwellings not fear that Our wrath may come upon them at night while they are asleep? 97 Or else did they feel secure against its coming in broad daylight while they played about (care-free)? 98 Do they feel secure against God's devising? No one feels secure against God's devising except for those doomed to ruin. 99
