Is it not plain to those who inherit the earth after its inhabitants that if We willed We could smite them for their sins and set a seal upon their hearts, so that they do not hear. 100 Such were the towns whose story We (thus) relate unto thee: There came indeed to them their messengers with clear (signs): But they would not believe what they had rejected before. Thus doth Allah seal up the hearts of those who reject faith. 101 Most of them We found not men (true) to their covenant: but most of them We found rebellious and disobedient. 102 Then after them We sent Musa (Moses) with Our Signs to Fir'aun (Pharaoh) and his chiefs, but they wrongfully rejected them. So see how was the end of the Mufsidun (mischief-makers, corrupts, etc.). 103 Moses said: O Pharaoh! Lo! I am a messenger from the Lord of the Worlds, 104 And it behoves me to say nothing about Allah except what is true. I have come to you with a clear sign of having been sent from your Lord. So let the Children of Israel go with me.' 105 Pharaoh said: if you have brought a sign, then bring it forth if you are truthful.' 106 Then he flung down his staff and lo! it was a serpent manifest; 107 And he drew out his hand; thereupon it was white [with radiance] for the observers. 108
