Al-A 'araaf 13 of 24
Do not the people who inherited the earth from the (earlier) inhabitants perceive that We could afflict them too for their sins if We pleased, and put seals on their hearts that they may not hear (the voice of truth)? 100 To those [earlier] communities - some of whose stories We relate to you - there had indeed come Messengers with clear proofs, but they would not believe what they had once rejected as false. Thus it is that Allah seals the hearts of those who deny the truth. 101 And We found no covenant in most of them; and most of them We found ungodly. 102 Then after them We sent Moses with Our signs to Pharaoh and his chiefs, but they wrongfully rejected them: So see what was the end of those who made mischief. 103 And Moses said: 'O Pharaoh! I am a Messenger from the Lord of the universe. 104 I must only speak what is true about God. I have brought you miracles from your Lord; therefore, let the children of Israel go free". 105 He answered: 'If you have come with a sign, show it to us if you are of the truthful' 106 Thereupon Moses threw his rod, and suddenly it was a veritable serpent. 107 And he drew out his hand; thereupon it was white [with radiance] for the observers. 108
