Has it, then, not become obvious unto those who have inherited the earth in the wake of former generations that, if We so willed, We could smite them [too] by means of their sins, sealing their hearts so that they cannot hear [the truth]? 100 Those cities We relate to thee tidings of; their Messengers came to them with the clear signs, but they were not the ones to believe in that they had cried lies before; so God seals the hearts of the unbelievers. 101 We did not find many among them keeping their promises. However, We did find many evil-doers among them. 102 After them We sent Moses with Our signs to Pharaoh and his chiefs. But they willfully rejected them. Consider the end of the evil-doers. 103 Moses said: 'Pharaoh, I am a Messenger from the Lord of the Worlds, 104 [Who is] obligated not to say about Allah except the truth. I have come to you with clear evidence from your Lord, so send with me the Children of Israel." 105 [Pharaoh] said, "If you come with a sign, then produce it, if you are telling the truth." 106 He threw down his staff, and it was clearly a serpent. 107 And he drew out his hand; thereupon it was white [with radiance] for the observers. 108
