Al-A 'araaf 13 of 24

Is it not an indication to those who inherit the land after its people (who thus reaped the consequence of evil-doing) that, if We will, We can smite them for their sins and print upon their hearts so that they hear not? 100 Those cities We relate to thee tidings of; their Messengers came to them with the clear signs, but they were not the ones to believe in that they had cried lies before; so God seals the hearts of the unbelievers. 101 We found no covenant in the most part of them; indeed, We found the most part of them ungodly. 102 Then We sent, after them, Moses with Our signs to Pharaoh and his Council, but they did them wrong; so behold thou, how was the end of the workers of corruption! 103 Moses said: 'Pharaoh, I am a Messenger from the Lord of the Worlds, 104 (I am) worthy of not saying anything about Allah except the truth: I have come to you indeed with clear proof from your Lord, therefore send with me the children of Israel 105 [Pharaoh] said, "If you come with a sign, then produce it, if you are telling the truth." 106 So he cast his staff; and behold, it was a serpent manifest. 107 Then he drew out his hand, and it appeared luminous to all beholders. 108
