Is it not plain to those who inherit the earth after its inhabitants that if We willed We could smite them for their sins and set a seal upon their hearts, so that they do not hear. 100 Such were the townships. We relate some tidings of them unto thee (Muhammad). Their messengers verily came unto them with clear proofs (of Allah's Sovereignty), but they could not believe because they had before denied. Thus doth Allah print upon the hearts of disbelievers (that they hear not). 101 Most of them We found not men (true) to their covenant: but most of them We found rebellious and disobedient. 102 After those We sent forth Moses with Our signs to Pharaoh and his assembly, but with it they harmed. Look at the end of the corrupters. 103 And Musa said: O Fir'awn! I am an apostle from the Lord of the worlds; 104 "I am duty bound to speak nothing of God but the truth I have brought from your Lord a clear sign; so let the people of Israel depart with me." 105 He said: If you have come with a sign, then bring it, if you are of the truthful ones. 106 Thereupon [Moses] threw down his staff, and lo! it was a serpent, plainly visible; 107 And he drew forth his hand (from his bosom), and lo! it was white for the beholders. 108
