Do not the people who inherited the earth from the (earlier) inhabitants perceive that We could afflict them too for their sins if We pleased, and put seals on their hearts that they may not hear (the voice of truth)? 100 (Muhammad), such were the stories of the people who lived in (different) towns in the past. We had sent Our Messengers to them with (certain) miracles but the people still did not believe in what they had rejected before. Such is how God seals the hearts of the unbelievers. 101 We found most of them untrue to their covenants, indeed We found most of them to be defiant. 102 After those We sent forth Moses with Our signs to Pharaoh and his assembly, but with it they harmed. Look at the end of the corrupters. 103 Moses said: "O Pharaoh! I am a messenger from the Lord of the worlds,- 104 One for whom it is right to say nothing but truth about Allah. Now have I come unto you (people), from your Lord, with a clear (Sign): So let the Children of Israel depart along with me." 105 Said [Pharaoh]: "If thou hast come with a sign, produce it - if thou art a man of truth!" 106 Thereupon Moses threw his rod, and suddenly it was a veritable serpent. 107 Then he drew out his hand, and it appeared luminous to all beholders. 108
