Is it not clear to those who inherit the earth after its (former) residents that if We please We would afflict them on account of their faults and set a seal on their hearts so they would not hear. 100 Unto those [earlier] communities - some of whose stories We [now] relate unto thee - there had indeed come apostles of their own with all evidence of the truth; but they would not believe in anything to which they had once given the lie: thus it is that God seals the hearts of those who deny the truth; 101 And We did not find for most of them any covenant; but indeed, We found most of them defiantly disobedient. 102 Then after them We sent Musa (Moses) with Our Signs to Fir'aun (Pharaoh) and his chiefs, but they wrongfully rejected them. So see how was the end of the Mufsidun (mischief-makers, corrupts, etc.). 103 And Musa said: O Fir'awn! I am an apostle from the Lord of the worlds; 104 "Proper it is for me that I say nothing concerning Allah but the truth. Indeed I have come unto you from your Lord with a clear proof. So let the Children of Israel depart along with me." 105 [Pharaoh] said, "If you have come with a sign, then bring it forth, if you should be of the truthful." 106 Thereupon he cast down his rod, when, lo it was a serpent manifest. 107 And he drew forth his hand, and lo, it was white to the beholders. 108
