Said the eminent among the people of Pharaoh, "Indeed, this is a learned magician 109 Who wants to expel you from your land [through magic], so what do you instruct?" 110 They said: "Put him and his brother off (for a time), and send callers (men) to the cities to collect (and) - 111 And bring up to thee all (our) sorcerers well-versed." 112 The magicians came to the Pharaoh and said: "Is there reward for us if we succeed?" 113 He said: Yes, and you shall certainly be of those who are near (to me). 114 They said, “O Moosa! You may throw first – or shall we be the first to throw?” 115 He said, "Throw," and when they threw, they bewitched the eyes of the people and struck terror into them, and they presented a great [feat of] magic. 116 And We revealed to Musa, saying: Cast your rod; then lo! it devoured the lies they told. 117 ۞ So the truth came to pass, and false was proved what they were doing. 118 they were defeated and turned belittled, 119 And the magicians fell down in prostration [to Allah]. 120 [and] exclaiming: "We have come to believe in the Sustainer of all the worlds, 121 The Lord of Musa and Haroun. 122 Fir'aun (Pharaoh) said: "You have believed in him [Musa (Moses)] before I give you permission. Surely, this is a plot which you have plotted in the city to drive out its people, but you shall come to know. 123 I will surely cut off your hands and your feet on opposite sides; then I will surely crucify you all." 124 They answered: "Verily, unto our Sustainer do we turn 125 You only take revenge on us because we believed in the Lord when we saw His miracles. Lord, grant us patience and let us die Muslims (submitted to God)." 126
