And lo, it forthwith swallowed up their lying invention. 117 ۞ Thus truth was confirmed, and all that they did was made of no effect. 118 They were therefore defeated here and they turned back humiliated. 119 And the sorcerers prostrated themselves 120 saying: 'We believe in the Lord of the Worlds, 121 "The Lord of Moses and Aaron." 122 The Pharaoh said to the magicians, "You declared your belief in him (Moses) without my permission. This is a plot to throw my people out of their city. But you will soon know. 123 "Be sure I will cut off your hands and your feet on apposite sides, and I will cause you all to die on the cross." 124 They said, “We shall return to our Lord.” 125 You would take revenge on us only because we believed in the signs of our Lord when they came to us.
