The chiefs of Pharaoh's people said, "This is most surely a skillful magician, 109 Who wants to expel you from your land [through magic], so what do you instruct?" 110 Then they advised Pharaoh: 'Put off Moses and his brother for a while, and send forth heralds to your cities 111 To bring each knowing wizard unto thee. 112 And the magicians came to Pharaoh. They said, "Indeed for us is a reward if we are the predominant." 113 "Yes," said he, "you will be among the honoured." 114 So they said: "O Moses, you may cast your spell first, or we shall cast ours." 115 He said, “You throw”; when they threw, they cast a magic spell upon the people’s eyes and terrified them, and they brought a great magic. 116 Then We revealed to Moses: 'Now, throw down your staff' And thereupon it swallowed up their false invention. 117 ۞ So the truth was established, and abolished was what they were doing. 118 Thus were they there defeated and brought low. 119 threw themselves down in prostration 120 saying: 'We believe in the Lord of the universe, 121 the Lord of Moses and Aaron!" 122 Pharaoh said: 'Do you believe in Him before I permit? This is a plot that you have contrived in the city in order to expel its people from it. Now you shall know! 123 Surely I shall have your hands and feet cut off upon alternate sides. Then I shall crucify you every one. 124 They said, “We shall return to our Lord.” 125 You would punish us only because we believed in the signs of our Lord when they were shown to us. Our Lord, pour patience upon us, and cause us to die in a state of submission to You." 126

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
