Said the chieftains of Firaun’s people, “He is really an expert magician.” 109 who seeks to drive you from your land what do you command' 110 They said (unto Pharaoh): Put him off (a while) - him and his brother - and send into the cities summoners, 111 "That they bring up to you all well-versed sorcerers." 112 And the enchanters came to Firon (and) said: We must surely have a reward if we are the prevailing ones. 113 He said: "Yes, and moreover you will (in that case) be of the nearest (to me)." 114 The magicians asked Moses, "Will you throw your staff first or shall we?" 115 He said, 'You cast.' And when they cast they put a Spell upon the people's eyes, and called forth fear of them, and produced a mighty sorcery. 116 Then We inspired Moses, saying, "Throw down your staff." And it immediately swallowed up their false devices. 117 ۞ So the truth was established, and what they did became null. 118 Thus there and then they were vanquished and overthrown, humiliated. 119 And the magicians flung themselves prostrate. 120 saying, "We declare our belief in the Lord of the Universe, 121 the Sustainer of Moses and Aaron!" 122 Fir'aun (Pharaoh) said: "You have believed in him [Musa (Moses)] before I give you permission. Surely, this is a plot which you have plotted in the city to drive out its people, but you shall come to know. 123 most certainly shall I cut off your hands and your feet in great numbers, because of [your] perverseness, and then I shall most certainly crucify you, in great numbers, all together!" 124 They replied: 'We shall surely return to our Lord. 125 And you do not take revenge on us except because we have believed in the communications of our Lord when they came to us! Our Lord: Pour out upon us patience and cause us to die in submission. 126
