Those who reject Our signs, We shall gradually visit with punishment, in ways they perceive not; 182 for, behold, though I may give them rein for a while. My subtle scheme is exceedingly firm! 183 Have they not reflected? No madness is in their comrade; he is naught but a plain warner. 184 Will they not ponder upon the kingdom of the heavens and the earth, and all that Allah created, and that it may be that their term is drawing near? So, in which speech will they believe thereafter? 185 To such as Allah rejects from His guidance, there can be no guide: He will leave them in their trespasses, wandering in distraction. 186 They ask thee about the (final) Hour - when will be its appointed time? Say: "The knowledge thereof is with my Lord (alone): None but He can reveal as to when it will occur. Heavy were its burden through the heavens and the earth. Only, all of a sudden will it come to you." They ask thee as if thou Wert eager in search thereof: Say: "The knowledge thereof is with Allah (alone), but most men know not." 187 Tell them [O Muhammad]: 'I have no power to benefit or harm myself except as Allah may please. And had I knowledge of the unseen, I should have amassed all kinds of good, and no evil would have ever touched me. I am merely a warner and the herald of glad tidings to those who have faith.' 188
