As for those who reject Our signs as false, We shall lead them, step by step, to their ruin without their even perceiving it. 182 for, behold, though I may give them rein for a while. My subtle scheme is exceedingly firm! 183 Have they not bethought them (that) there is no madness in their comrade? He is but a plain warner. 184 Do they not look into the realm of the heavens and the earth and everything that Allah has created and [think] that perhaps their appointed time has come near? So in what statement hereafter will they believe? 185 Those whom Allah sendeth astray, there is no guide for them. He leaveth them to wander blindly on in their contumacy. 186 They ask you about the hour, when will be its taking place? Say: The knowledge of it is only with my Lord; none but He shall manifest it at its time; it will be momentous in the heavens and the earth; it will not come on you but of a sudden. They ask you as if you were solicitous about it. Say: Its knowledge is only with Allah, but most people do not know. 187 Say: 'I do not have the power to acquire benefits or to avert harm from myself, except by the Will of Allah. Had I possessed knowledge of the unseen, I would have availed myself of much that is good, and no harm would have touched me. But I am only a warner and a bearer of glad tidings for a nation who believe. 188
