۞ It is God Who created you from a single soul and out of it made its spouse to bring it comfort. When he (man) engaged in carnal relations with her, she conceived a light burden which she had to carry. When the baby grew in her womb, they (husband and wife) both prayed to their Lord, "If You grant us a healthy son we shall certainly give you thanks." 189 But when He gave them a Salih (good in every aspect) child, they ascribed partners to Him (Allah) in that which He has given to them. High be Allah, Exalted above all that they ascribe as partners to Him. (Tafsir At-Tabari, Vol. 9, Page 148). 190 Do they associate with Him those who create nothing and are themselves created? 191 They can give them no help, nor can they help themselves. 192 And if ye call them toward guidance they follow you not: it is the same to you whether ye call them or are silent. 193 Lo! those on whom ye call beside Allah are slaves like unto you. Call on them now, and let them answer you, if ye are truthful! 194 Have they feet wherewith they walk? Or have they hands wherewith they hold? Or have they eyes wherewith they see? Or have they ears wherewith they hear? Say (O Muhammad SAW): "Call your (so-called) partners (of Allah) and then plot against me, and give me no respite! 195 My guardian is Allah Who has revealed the Book, and it is He Who protects the righteous. 196 And those whom ye call upon besides Him cannot succour you nor themselves they can succour. 197 And if you invite them to guidance, they do not hear; and you see them looking at you while they do not see. 198 Take what is given freely, enjoin what is good, and turn away from the ignorant. 199 If you are instigated by the Devil to evil seek refuge in God, for God hears all and knows everything. 200 Lo! those who ward off (evil), when a glamour from the devil troubleth them, they do but remember (Allah's Guidance) and behold them seers! 201 And their brethren drag them on toward error, so they stop not short. 202 And whenever thou bringest not unto them, as a sign, they say: wherefore hast not thou selected it? Say thou: I only follow that which hath been revealed unto me by my Lord. This is an enlightenment from your Lord and a guidance and a mercy unto a people who believe. 203 When the Quran is read, listen to it with attention, and hold your peace, so that you may receive mercy. 204 Remember your Lord in your soul with humility and fear, and not with a loud voice, morning and evening, and do not be among the inattentive. 205 Indeed, those who are near your Lord are not prevented by arrogance from His worship, and they exalt Him, and to Him they prostrate. ۩ 206
