۞ It is He Who created you from a single soul, and from him made its mate for him to gain comfort with her; so when the male covered her, she was burdened lightly in her womb, and she therefore moved easily carrying it; and when she felt the burden heavy, they both cried to their Lord Allah, “Indeed You may give to us a child as You will, so we will surely be thankful.” 189 So when He bestowed them a normal child, they ascribed partners (to Him) in respect of what He had bestowed upon them; therefore Supreme is Allah, above all that they ascribe as partners. 190 What! they associate (with Him) that which does not create any thing, while they are themselves created! 191 And they have no power to give them help, nor can they help themselves. 192 And if you call them to true guidance, they will not follow you. It is all the same for you whether you call them to true guidance or keep silent. 193 Those on whom you call apart from God, are servants the likes of you; call them and let them answer you, if you speak truly. 194 Do they have feet to walk on, or hands to hold with, or eyes to see and ears to hear with? Say to them: "Call your compeers, and work out a plot against me, and do not give me time. 195 Surely my guardian is Allah, Who revealed the Book, and He befriends the good. 196 And those on whom you call, apart from God, have no power to help you, neither they help themselves.' 197 and if you pray unto them for guidance, they do not hear; and though thou mayest imagine that they behold thee, they do not see." 198 Take to forgiveness and enjoin good and turn aside from the ignorant. 199 When satan provokes you seek refuge in Allah; He is the Hearing, the Knowing. 200 When any evil suggestion from Satan touches those who fear God, they are instantly alerted and become watchful; 201 But (as for) their brothers (the devils) they (i.e. the devils) plunge them deeper into error, and they never stop short. 202 If thou bring them not a revelation, they say: "Why hast thou not got it together?" Say: "I but follow what is revealed to me from my Lord: this is (nothing but) lights from your Lord, and Guidance, and mercy, for any who have faith." 203 Whenever the Quran is recited (to you), listen to it quietly so that you may receive mercy. 204 And remember your Lord within yourself humbly and fearing and in a voice not loud in the morning and the evening and be not of the heedless ones. 205 [The angels] who are near to Your Lord, never turn away from His service out of arrogance; they rather glorify Him and prostrate themselves before Him. ۩ 206
