۞ He it is who created you from a single soul, and He created therefrom his spouse that he might find repose in her. Then when he covereth her she beareth a light burthen and fareth about therewith; then when she groweth heavy the twain call upon Allah their Lord: if Thou vouchsafest us a goodly child, we shall surely be of the thankful. 189 But when He gave unto them aright, they ascribed unto Him partners in respect of that which He had given them. High is He Exalted above all that they associate (with Him). 190 Will they, then, ascribe divinity, side by side with Him, unto beings that cannot create anything since they themselves are created 191 They can give them no help, nor can they help themselves. 192 If ye call them to guidance, they will not obey: For you it is the same whether ye call them or ye hold your peace! 193 Indeed those whom you (the disbelievers) worship besides Allah are slaves like you – so call them and they may answer you, if you are truthful! 194 Do they have feet by which they walk? Or do they have hands by which they strike? Or do they have eyes by which they see? Or do they have ears by which they hear? Say, [O Muhammad], "Call your 'partners' and then conspire against me and give me no respite. 195 My protector is God who sent down the Book, for it is He who protects the righteous. 196 Those whom you call on besides Him have no power to help you, nor can they help themselves." 197 If thou callest them to guidance, they hear not. Thou wilt see them looking at thee, but they see not. 198 Show forgiveness, enjoin what is good, and turn away from the foolish (i.e. don't punish them). 199 If an evil impulse from Satan provokes you, seek refuge with God; He is all hearing, and all knowing. 200 Those who fear Allah, when a thought of evil from Satan assaults them, bring Allah to remembrance, when lo! they see (aright)! 201 And their brothers, they prolong them in error, and they will never stop. 202 And when you do not bring a (Qur'anic) verse to them, they say: "Why don't you make one up?" Say: "I follow only what my Lord reveals to me." These (revelations) are an evident proof from your Lord, and a guidance and grace for those who believe. 203 When the Qur'an is read, listen to it with attention, and hold your peace: that ye may receive Mercy. 204 And remember your Lord by your tongue and within yourself, humbly and with fear without loudness in words in the mornings, and in the afternoons and be not of those who are neglectful. 205 [even] the ones [angels] who live in the presence of your Lord are not too proud to worship Him: they glorify Him and prostrate themselves before Him. ۩ 206
