The Spoils of War (Al-Anfaal)
75 verses, revealed in Medina after The Heifer (Al-Baqarah) before The Amramites (Al-Imraan)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ They will question thee concerning the spoils. Say: 'The spoils belong to God and the Messenger; so fear you God, and set things right between you, and obey you God and His Messenger, if you are believers.' 1 The true believers are those who, when Allah's name is mentioned, their hearts quake, and when His verses are recited to them their faith grows, and who put their trust in their Lord; 2 those who perform the prayer, and expend of what We have provided them, 3 those are, in truth, the believers. They shall have degrees with their Lord and forgiveness, and a generous provision. 4 As your Lord sent you from your home (to fight) for the true cause, a section of the faithful were averse, 5 They disputed with you about the truth after that had become evident, as if they were being driven to death with their eyes wide open. 6 And when Allah promised you one of the two bands (of the enemy) that it should be yours, and ye longed that other than the armed one might be yours. And Allah willed that He should cause the Truth to triumph by His words, and cut the root of the disbelievers; 7 In order that he might justify the truth and falsify the false even though the guilty ones were averse. 8 Remember when you prayed to your Lord for help, He heard you and said: "I shall send a thousand angels following behind you for your aid." 9 God wrought this not, save as good tidings and that your hearts thereby might be at rest; help comes only from God; surely God is All-mighty, All-wise. 10

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
