(Remember) when He covered you with a slumber as a security from Him, and He caused water (rain) to descend on you from the sky, to clean you thereby and to remove from you the Rijz (whispering, evil-suggestions, etc.) of Shaitan (Satan), and to strengthen your hearts, and make your feet firm thereby. 11 When thy Lord was revealing to the angels, 'I am with you; so confirm the believers. I shall cast into the unbelievers' hearts terror; so smite above the necks, and smite every finger of them!' 12 This is because they defied and disobeyed Allah and His Messenger. And whoever defies and disobeys Allah and His Messenger, then verily, Allah is Severe in punishment. 13 "That [is yours], so taste it." And indeed for the disbelievers is the punishment of the Fire. 14 O Ye who believe! whenever ye meet those who disbelieve marching slowly turn to them not your backs. 15 And whoever turns his back to them on such a day - unless it be a stratagem of war, or to retreat to a troop (of his own), - he indeed has drawn upon himself wrath from Allah. And his abode is Hell, and worst indeed is that destination! 16 It was not you who killed them, but God did so. You did not throw what you threw, (sand into the eyes of the enemy at Badr), but God, to bring out the best in the faithful by doing them a favour of His own. God is all-hearing and all-knowing. 17 Allah will surely weaken the guile of the unbelievers. 18 If ye besought a judgement then surely a judgement hath come unto you. And if ye desist it will be better for you; and if ye return We will return; and your host shall avail you not, although numerous it be; and know that verily Allah is with the believers. 19
