Al-Anfaal 3 of 10
Believers! Obey Allah and His Messenger and do not turn away from him after you hear his command. 20 And do not be like those who say: 'We hear', though they do not hearken. 21 ۞ The most wicked beasts in the sight of God are the deaf and the dumb who have no understanding. 22 If God had known of any good in them He would have made them hear; and if He had made them hear, they would have turned away, swerving aside. 23 O People who Believe! Present yourselves upon the command of Allah and His Noble Messenger, when the Noble Messenger calls you towards the matter that will bestow you life; and know that the command of Allah becomes a barrier between a man and his heart’s intentions, and that you will all be raised towards Him. 24 And beware of an affliction that will not smite exclusively those among you who have done wrong. Know that God is severe in exacting retribution. 25 Call to mind when ye were a small (band), despised through the land, and afraid that men might despoil and kidnap you; But He provided a safe asylum for you, strengthened you with His aid, and gave you Good things for sustenance: that ye might be grateful. 26 O you who believe! be not unfaithful to Allah and the Apostle, nor be unfaithful to your trusts while you know. 27 and know that your worldly goods and your children are but a trial and a temptation, and that with God there is a tremendous reward. 28
