O believers, obey God and His Messenger, and do not turn away from him when you hear (him speak); 20 Do not be like those who say: 'We hear' but they do not listen. 21 ۞ Surely the vilest of animals, in Allah's sight, are the deaf, the dumb, who do not understand. 22 And had Allah known in them any good He would surely have made them hearken; and even if He made them hear, they would surely turn away as backsliders. 23 O you who believe! Answer Allah (by obeying Him) and (His) Messenger when he (SAW) calls you to that which will give you life, and know that Allah comes in between a person and his heart (i.e. He prevents an evil person to decide anything). And verily to Him you shall (all) be gathered. 24 And guard yourselves against a chastisement which cannot fall exclusively on those of you who are wrong-doers, and know that Allah is severe in punishment. 25 Remember, when you were few and powerless in the land, afraid of despoliation at the hands of men. But then God sheltered and helped you to strength, and provided for you good things that you may perhaps be grateful. 26 O you who believe, do not be faithless to God and His Apostle, nor violate your trusts knowingly. 27 Know well that your belongings and your children are but a trial, and that with Allah there is a mighty reward. 28
