O ye who believe! Obey Allah and His messenger, and turn not away from him when ye hear (him speak). 20 And be not like those who said, We hear, and they did not obey. 21 ۞ The worst of creatures in the eyes of God are those who are deaf and dumb and devoid of sense. 22 If Allah had found in them any good. He would indeed have made them listen: (As it is), if He had made them listen, they would but have turned back and declined (Faith). 23 O believers, respond to the call of God and His Prophet when he calls you to what will give you life (and preservation). Remember that God intervenes between man and his heart, and that you will be gathered before Him. 24 And fear a trial which shall surely not smite in particular the evildoers among you; and know that God is terrible in retribution. 25 And remember when you were few and were reckoned weak in the land, and were afraid that men might kidnap you, but He provided a safe place for you, strengthened you with His Help, and provided you with good things so that you might be grateful. 26 Do not betray God and His Messenger, and do not knowingly violate your trusts. 27 And know that your properties and your children are but a trial and that Allah has with Him a great reward. 28
