And recall what time the hypocrites and these in whose hearts was a disease said: their religion hath begulfed those. And whosoever relieth on Allah then verily Allah is Mighty, Wise. 49 If thou couldst see how the angels receive those who disbelieve, smiting faces and their backs and (saying): Taste the punishment of burning! 50 "Because of (the deeds) which your (own) hands sent forth; for Allah is never unjust to His servants: 51 Like Pharaoh's family and those who have gone before them, they disbelieved the signs of Allah. Therefore, Allah seized them in their sinfulness. Mighty is Allah and stern in retribution. 52 That is because Allah would not change a favor which He had bestowed upon a people until they change what is within themselves. And indeed, Allah is Hearing and Knowing. 53 Similar to the behaviour of the people of Fir'aun (Pharaoh), and those before them. They belied the Ayat (proofs, evidences, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, etc.), of their Lord, so We destroyed them for their sins, and We drowned the people of Fir'aun (Pharaoh) for they were all Zalimun (polytheists and wrong-doers, etc.). 54 Verily, the vilest creatures in the sight of God are those who are bent on denying the truth and therefore do not believe. 55 They are those with whom you made a covenant, but they break their covenant every time and they do not fear Allah. 56 So if you gain the mastery over them in war, punish them severely in order to disperse those who are behind them, so that they may learn a lesson. 57 And if you fear treachery on the part of a people, then throw back to them on terms of equality; surely Allah does not love the treacherous. 58
