▼ 8 The Spoils of War
Al-Anfaal 9 of 10

Prophet, urge the believers to fight; if there are twenty of you who are steadfast, they will overcome two hundred, and if there are a hundred of you, they will overcome a thousand of those who deny the truth, for they are devoid of understanding. 65 For the present Allah has made light your burden, and He knows that there is weakness in you; so if there are a hundred patient ones of you they shall overcome two hundred, and if there are a thousand they shall overcome two thousand by Allah's permission, and Allah is with the patient. 66 It is not for any prophet to have captives until he hath made slaughter in the land. Ye desire the lure of this world and Allah desireth (for you) the Hereafter, and Allah is Mighty, Wise. 67 If not for a decree from Allah that preceded, you would have been touched for what you took by a great punishment. 68 Eat ye then of that which ye have obtained of spoil, lawful and clean, fear Allah; verily Allah is Forgiving, Merciful 69
