Ask them: "Who gives you food and sustenance from the skies and the earth? Or, who is the lord of ear and eye? And who brings forth the living from the dead, the dead from the living? And who directs all affairs?" They will say: "God." So tell them: "Why do you not fear Him?" 31 Such, then, is Allah, your true Lord. And what is there after truth but error? How, then, are you being turned away? 32 Thus the Word of your Lord is proved true against those who are disobedient. They will not believe. 33 Say: 'Is there any of your associates who originates creation, then brings it back again?' Say: 'God -- He originates creation, then brings it back again; so how are you perverted?' 34 (Muhammad), ask them, "Can any of your idols guide you to the Truth?" Say, "Only God guides to the Truth." Is the one who guides to the Truth a proper guide or one who himself cannot find guidance unless he is guided (by others)? What is wrong with you that you judge (so unjustly)? 35 Many of them follow nothing but illusion; yet illusion cannot replace the reality. God verily knows what they do. 36 No one could have composed this Quran besides God. This confirms the existing Book (the Bible) and explains itself. There is no doubt that it is from the Lord of the Universe. 37 Or do they say, "He forged it"? say: "Bring then a Sura like unto it, and call (to your aid) anyone you can besides Allah, if it be ye speak the truth!" 38 Indeed, they are denying something which they cannot comprehend; the reality not yet having dawned on them. Likewise those before them rejected the truth. But see what was the end of the wrongdoers. 39 And there are among them such as will in time come to believe in this [divine writ,] just as there are among them such as will never believe in it; and thy Sustainer is fully aware as to who are the spreaders of corruption. 40
