And if they deny you, [O Muhammad], then say, "For me are my deeds, and for you are your deeds. You are disassociated from what I do, and I am disassociated from what you do." 41 And among them are those who listen to you. But can you cause the deaf to hear, although they will not use reason? 42 And some of them look unto thee; what, wilt thou then guide the blind, though they do not see? 43 Verily Allah wrongeth not mankind in aught but mankind wrong themselves. 44 And on the day when He will gather them as though they had not stayed but an hour of the day, they will know each other. They will perish indeed who called the meeting with Allah to be a lie, and they are not followers of the right direction. 45 And if We show you something of what We threaten them with, or cause you to die, yet to Us is their return, and Allah is the bearer of witness to what they do. 46 And in every nation was a Noble Messenger (from Allah); so when their Noble Messenger came to them, they were judged with fairness, and they were not wronged. 47 They say, "When will this promise come to pass -- if you speak the truth?" 48 Say [O Prophet]: "It is not within my power to avert harm from, or bring benefit to, myself, except as God may please. For all people a term has been set: when the end of their term approaches, they can neither delay it by a single moment, nor hasten it." 49 Say: 'Have you considered? If His chastisement comes upon you by night or day, what part of it will the sinners seek to hasten? 50 "Would ye then believe in it at last, when it actually cometh to pass? (It will then be said): 'Ah! now? and ye wanted (aforetime) to hasten it on!' 51 Then it shall be said to those who were unjust: Taste abiding chastisement; you are not requited except for what you earned. 52 And they ask thee to inform them (saying): Is it true? Say: Yea, by my Lord, verily it is true, and ye cannot escape. 53
