If they belie you, say: 'I have my work, you have your work. You are quit of what I do, and I am quit of what you do' 41 And some of them give ear to thee; what, wilt thou make the deaf to hear, though they understand not? 42 Some of them look fixedly at you; but can you make the blind see, bereft as they are of sight? 43 Truly! Allah wrongs not mankind in aught; but mankind wrong themselves. 44 And on the day when He will gather them as though they had not stayed but an hour of the day, they will know each other. They will perish indeed who called the meeting with Allah to be a lie, and they are not followers of the right direction. 45 When if We show you them suffering Our retribution or you die before their suffering, (they will not be able to escape Our punishment) they will all return to Us. God bears witness to whatever they do. 46 And for every Ummah (a community or a nation), there is a Messenger; when their Messenger comes, the matter will be judged between them with justice, and they will not be wronged. 47 They say: "When will this promise come to pass,- if ye speak the truth?" 48 Say (O Muhammad SAW): "I have no power over any harm or profit to myself except what Allah may will. For every Ummah (a community or a nation), there is a term appointed; when their term is reached, neither can they delay it nor can they advance it an hour (or a moment)." (Tafsir Al-Qurtubi). 49 Say thou: bethink ye, if His torment come on you by night or by day which portion thereof would the culprits hasten on? 50 “So will you believe it only when it has occurred? What! You believe in it now, whereas you were impatient* for it before? (* Eagerly demanding for it to occur.) 51 Then it shall be said to those who were unjust: Taste abiding chastisement; you are not requited except for what you earned. 52 And they ask thee to inform them (saying): Is it true? Say: Yea, by my Lord, verily it is true, and ye cannot escape. 53
