In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
AlifLaamRa. Those are the verses of the Clear Book. 1 We have revealed it as a Recitation in Arabic that you may fully understand. 2 In revealing this Quran to you, We tell you the best of the stories of which you were unaware. 3 Behold! Joseph said to his father: "O my father! I did see eleven stars and the sun and the moon: I saw them prostrate themselves to me!" 4 He said: "O son, do not narrate your dream to your brothers, or they will plot against you. Surely Satan is man's acknowledged foe. 5 "Thus will your Lord choose you and teach you the interpretation of dreams (and other things) and perfect His Favour on you and on the offspring of Ya'qub (Jacob), as He perfected it on your fathers, Ibrahim (Abraham) and Ishaque (Isaac) aforetime! Verily, your Lord is All-Knowing, All-Wise." 6
