Joseph (Yousuf)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
Alif-Lam-Ra. These are the verses of a Book luminous. 1 Verily, We have sent it down as an Arabic Quran in order that you may understand. 2 We! We recount unto thee the best of stories, by revealing unto thee this Qur'an, although thou wast before that of the unaware ones. 3 Remember when Yusuf (Joseph) said to his father, “O my father! I saw eleven stars and the sun and the moon – I saw them prostrating to me.” 4 His father said: "My son! Do not relate your dream to your brothers lest they hatch a plot to harm you. Indeed Satan is man's open enemy. 5 Thus, your Lord will select you, teach you the interpretation of dreams, and grant His favors to you and the family of Jacob, just as He granted His favors to your fathers, Abraham and Isaac. Your Lord is certainly All-knowing and All-wise." 6
