AND [one day] the King said: Behold, I saw [in a dream] seven fat cows being devoured by seven emaciated ones, and seven green ears [of wheat] next to [seven] others that were withered. O you nobles! Enlighten me about [the meaning of] my dream, if you are able to interpret dreams!" 43 They said: medleys of dreams! and in the interpretation of dreams we are not skilled. 44 Then the one of the twain, who was saved, and now recollected himself after a period, said: I, even I, shall declare unto you the interpretation thereof; so send me forth. 45 'Joseph, thou true man, pronounce to us regarding seven fat kine, that seven lean ones were devouring, seven green ears of corn, and seven withered; haply I shall return to the men, haply they will know.' 46 He said, “You will cultivate for seven years continuously; so leave all that you harvest in the ear, except a little which you eat.” 47 Then will come after that seven difficult [years] which will consume what you saved for them, except a little from which you will store. 48 This will be followed by a year of rain, and people shall press (the grapes)." 49
