The king said: 'I saw in a vision seven fatted cows being devoured by seven lean ones; and seven green ears of corn and seven others withered. My counselors, tell me the meaning of my vision, if you can interpret visions' 43 They answered: Jumbled dreams! And we are not knowing in the interpretation of dreams. 44 The man who was in prison with Joseph and who was released, recalled after so many years Joseph's (ability to interpret dreams) and said, "I can tell you the meaning of this dream if you allow me to go (to the prison and ask the man who knows the meanings of dreams)." 45 (And coming to the prison) he said: "O Joseph the truthful, tell us (the meaning of) seven fat cows being devoured by seven lean ones, and seven green ears of corn and seven seared, that I may go back to the people and tell them." 46 He replied: 'You shall sow for seven years as is your way. Leave in the ear (of corn) you reap, except a little which you eat. 47 Then thereafter there shall come upon you seven hard years, that shall devour what you have laid up for them, all but a little you keep in store. 48 Then thereafter there shall come a year wherein the people will be succoured and press in season. 49
