The Heifer (Al-Baqarah)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
AlifLaamMeem. 1 There is no doubt that this book is a guide for the pious; 2 Who believe in the Ghaib and perform As-Salat (Iqamat-as-Salat), and spend out of what we have provided for them [i.e. give Zakat, spend on themselves, their parents, their children, their wives, etc., and also give charity to the poor and also in Allah's Cause - Jihad, etc.]. 3 And who believe in that which has been revealed to you and that which was revealed before you and they are sure of the hereafter. 4 they are the people who are rightly following their Lord and it is they who shall be successful. 5 As for those who are bent on denying the truth, it makes no difference to them whether you warn them or not, they will not believe. 6 Allah hath set a seal upon their hearts and upon their hearing, and over their sights is a covering; and unto them shall be a torment mighty. 7
