The Heifer (Al-Baqarah)

286 verses, revealed in Medina after The Cheaters (Al-Mutaffifeen) before The Spoils of War (Al-Anfaal)

In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful

Alif Lam Mim 1 This is the Scripture whereof there is no doubt, a guidance unto those who ward off (evil). 2 who believe in the unseen, and are steadfast in prayer, and spend out of what We have provided them with; 3 Who believe in that which has been sent down to you (Prophet Muhammad) and what has been sent down before you (to Prophets Jesus and Moses) and firmly believe in the Everlasting Life. 4 These are guided by their Lord; these surely are the prosperous. 5 BEHOLD, as for those who are bent on denying the truth - it is all one to them whether thou warnest them or dost not warn them: they will not believe. 6 Allah has set a seal on their hearts and on their hearings, (i.e. they are closed from accepting Allah's Guidance), and on their eyes there is a covering. Theirs will be a great torment. 7
