The Heifer (Al-Baqarah)

286 verses, revealed in Medina after The Cheaters (Al-Mutaffifeen) before The Spoils of War (Al-Anfaal)

In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace

Alif-Lam-Mim. 1 This is the exalted Book (the Qur’an), in which there is no place for doubt; a guidance for the pious. 2 Who believe in [the existence of] that which is beyond the reach of human perception, and are constant in prayer, and spend on others out of what We provide for them as sustenance; 3 And who believe in that which has been revealed to you and that which was revealed before you and they are sure of the hereafter. 4 they are the people who are rightly following their Lord and it is they who shall be successful. 5 As for those who have rejected (these things), it is all the same to them whether you warn them or do not warn them: they are not going to believe. 6 God has sealed their hearts and their hearing, and over their eyes is a veil; and awesome suffering awaits them. 7
