The Heifer (Al-Baqarah)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
Alif-Lam-Mim. 1 This Book, there is no doubt in it, is a guide to those who guard (against evil). 2 Who believe in the Ghaib and perform As-Salat (Iqamat-as-Salat), and spend out of what we have provided for them [i.e. give Zakat, spend on themselves, their parents, their children, their wives, etc., and also give charity to the poor and also in Allah's Cause - Jihad, etc.]. 3 Who believe in that which has been sent down to you (Prophet Muhammad) and what has been sent down before you (to Prophets Jesus and Moses) and firmly believe in the Everlasting Life. 4 They have found the guidance of their Lord and will be successful. 5 Verily those who have disbelieved, it is equal to them whether thou warnest them or warnest them not; they will not believe. 6 Allah has sealed their hearts and their ears, and on their eyes is a covering; and for them is a terrible punishment. 7
